Wall Tiles
Wall tiling provides that extra, special finish to your Kitchen, Utility Room, Cloakroom or Bathroom. All these rooms can benefit from the decorative features and practicality that tiling provides.
Panels, Picture tile Sets, Motifs or Borders added to a plain wall will make all the difference, and you can even have tiles painted to your specific requirements!
A tiled wall is durable, easy to clean and lasts for years, and there are thousands of tiles to choose from. Why not ask me about tile shops in the area?
Wall Tiles - FAQ's
Can we tile direct on to new, bare plaster walls?
Yes, but only after a drying period.
Can you tile onto emulsion?
Yes, but the surface must be sound, and capable of supporting the weight of the tiles.
Can you tile on top of existing tiles?
Yes, providing the existing tiles are still firmly fixed and offer a flat surface.
I'd like my worktops tiled, is this OK?
Yes, but as worktops are used for food preparation a special epoxy grout must be used.
How many tiles do I need?
I will be pleased to advise quantities as a part of my written estimate.
Do you supply the adhesive and grout?
Yes, the type of adhesive and grout is vital to the success of any tiling work and I prefer to use those that I am familiar with
Does grout have to be white or grey?
No, grouts are now available in a variety of colours and shades.
What sizes are tiles?

Borders are usually the same width as the tile, but not as tall, or supplied in long (up to 2.5M) lengths. They are often moulded to a shape and have a contrasting colour or colours. Mosaics and glass tiles are also often used as borders, but should be the same thickness as your chosen tiles.
Can I put Floor tiles on the wall?
Yes, but the weight of the tiles must not exceed the recommendations for the type of wall surface, and special adhesives must be used
Are there published standards for tiling?
Yes, British Standard 5385 is the code of practice for fixing floor and wall tiles.
